The Big and Loud program, based on 25 years of extensive research, is changing the lives of patients living with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological challenges.  LSVT Big and Loud is and intensive treatment program administered in a manner that challenges the impaired system and results in phenomenal improvements in patient quality of life.

” LSVT Big and Loud is a program that is revolutionizing the quality of life for Parkinson’s patients and others suffering with neurological disorders.  It is a program that has demonstrated success for more than 25 years.  Our therapists are excited to provide the treatment and stand firmly behind the results.  This program changes lives.”

-Randall Bricco, President Valley-Bay Therapy, Inc.

The goal of LSVT Loud is to help patients communicate more effectively by increasing the loudness and quality of their voice as well as restoring facial expressions and self-concept.  Studies show that 90% of patients improve vocal loudness, and 80% of patients maintain those improvements for 12 to 24 months post treatment.  The most amazing element about LSVT Loud is that all patients report improvement in their ability to communicate! No other program currently available can boast results like that.

Individuals with Parkinson disease perform movements that are hesitant, slow, and with reduced in amplitude.  LSVT Big is an exercise based program which targets big, ample movements.  These movements are introduced in an intensive and high effort program.  LSVT Big focuses on improving self-awareness, increasing amplitude of motor output, and producing larger movements.  The LSVT Big program results in improved balance, increased trunk rotation, and allows for faster walking with bigger steps for your patients.

Below please find the amazing progress of a personal Valley-Bay Therapy patient, Helen.  Helen was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease before coming to Valley-Bay for occupational therapy.  Upon our initial evaluation of Helen, you will see she was not capable of easily getting out of the chair with out assistance.  However, on the final day of her LSVT Big treatment, just one month later,  she was quicker and more confident!
