Personality Dementia Hits Younger Patients

A dementia that rivals Alzheimer’s and  strikes before age 65.   Frontotemporal dementia affects a different area of the brain than Alzheimer’s, destroying the frontal lobes and spurring big personality changes.  The Alzheimer’s Association estimates that in people younger than age 65, FTD may account for up to 20% to 50% of dementia cases.
